PROPOSED BYLAWS CHANGES
As we work towards establishing the new Southwestern Illinois Board of REALTORS®, we are thoroughly examining the policies and procedures, including the bylaws, to ensure they are optimal for the association’s operations. During this process, we have identified certain aspects that require revision and have proposed some changes that we believe would be beneficial. We are currently seeking approval for only two of these proposed changes, and we will provide more information on additional revisions in the coming months.
The Board of Directors has approved some governance changes that necessitate modifications to the bylaws. To implement these changes, we require the approval of our REALTOR® members. This correspondence serves to provide eligible REALTOR® members with the mandatory notice at least ten (10) days prior to the Annual Membership Meeting, which is scheduled to take place on September 28. We kindly request that you consider approving the proposed bylaw changes, which would require a quorum of five percent (5%) of all REALTOR® members eligible to vote in good standing.
The voting period will begin today, Friday, September 15, and ends on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 4:30 pm. SIBR will announce the results by email of the bylaw amendments vote on September 29. During the Annual Membership Meeting on September 28, SIBR will present the proposed changes and provide an opportunity to ask questions. Please review the details carefully and submit your vote before the deadline.
